Why they always call Europeans the "settlers" when they raided a land
Natives already settled - shouldn't we call Europeans invaders or aggressors?
today they still trying to "settle" I mean take and invade the Middle East
denying peace with they weapons - the TV say they hate us for our freedom
you think that's the real reason for 911? or you think it's the way we've
treated the Middle East that we should question? 'cause it hurts to admit
we support leaders there who give us cheap oil but treat their people like
shhhhhhh - or support for Israel's mistreatment of citizens that's Palestinian?
it's forgotten - though Osama Bin Laden made this case - aren't you
too smart to keep believing all the times when history teachers lie
it's a disgrace - you know textbook's goals ain't to teach history correctly
but to copy and follow a model that makes the most money directly?
it's a mess you think we can solve the world's problems with tests?
HOOK: Why do they lie!? Why - Why do they lie?!
Textbooks that they write say the USA is always right with no flaws
the cause of why we think we're the greatest - don't that cripple our mind
from understanding why other countries might hate us? and if we're always
right in what we're doing - how we supposed to solve the problems of
the future with solutions - or who's losing at the present - they tell us
over time we keep progressing - keep rising - are we getting more
open minded? Abe Lincoln had a beard and he was president of the states
to this date you see a (New York) Yankee with a beard on his face?
You believe it 'cause a textbook, teacher, or politician communicate it?
why our books say we invade to stop chaos or communism but don't
explain it? why make us memorize what dates is? and what every
president's name is? how that help us with basic problems that we facing?
is it relating to our lives or wasting time with their lies in their lectures?
so don't we really need a b.s. detector to know when we're
getting tricked over getting those answers for a tester?
I rap with logic - who would knock it - not for profit - like the project
of writing history textbooks - do you think this needs a second look?
they took the position that patriotism's more important than the facts
about the past that they lived in - is something missing when they say
the president passed an act but don't write about the protest that
forced the president to react? in fact they don't talk about rich and
poor 'cause probably bringing up inequality would mess with their
U.S. the hero mythology - are you sorry to see that people submit
and don't act and just listen to authorities? it's horribly ineffective
shouldn't the point of history be to learn from the past and it's lessons?
how can we do that when they act like what we did was near
perfection? it's affecting every class - can you see the way they teach
the past doesn't help us understand our present? 'cause their lies
don't relate to our times or our lives or why poor people die and cry
why?! - students'll start finding history interesting when - their
textbooks and teachers stop lying to them - if it affects how
we're living won't we find it more interesting? (no doubt)
How can learning help us have a better future for us to live in
when they try and hide the past in class textbooks that they've written?
it's a mess - how can we learn to be our best when they teach us
only the government matters? not the people - we not equals?
just listen to them right? they always know best right? like when
they say war's okay we're gonna torture those we fight - when they
write do they talk about the future that we facing? our history doesn't
affect our present or our future is what they're saying? this version
why learn it? why not learn why we've killed? why our oil spills?
why we drill (for oil)? why they used slavery to build this country
as the richest? - and why we really drop bombs on people's villages?
or why 1% of people owns half of the country? are the other 99%
of us really that lazy - it's funny - 'cause aren't most rich people
just born to parents with money? aren't our books just written
by people? we're people - aren't we equals? aren't you too
smart to believe the lies the next time when they try?
